2026-2027 Junior Programs
SWTC is pleased to offer junior programs to all junior members and non-members alike (members will have priority).
Private tennis lessons are also available to junior members and are only given by certified tennis coaches authorized by the Club. For more information and/or to arrange for a private lesson, please e-mail our Tennis Director, Cameron Lore at tennisdirector@swtc.ca, or our Junior Program Director/Coach, Andy Yep at juniordirector@swtc.ca.
Junior Group Tennis Lessons
All SWTC junior group tennis lessons are given by Ontario Tennis Association (OTA) certified tennis coaches.
Each group will consist of players of equal skill level and/or age, taking a one-hour lesson per week. The lessons will run after school on Fridays in the afternoons and on Saturday mornings. The cost for the lessons will vary depending on the number of weeks per session (prime time court costs are included in the fee).
For the very young juniors (age 4-7), beginner and new intermediate group lessons will be on Saturday mornings at 9-10 am only.
For older juniors (age 8+), beginner, new intermediate, intermediate, and advance intermediate group lessons will be on all other days/times.
Please click here for more details on the dates/times and pricing.
Junior Match Play Program
This program is NOT FOR BEGINNERS! All beginners should join one of the Junior Group Tennis Lessons.
This program is for intermediates and above, who have all of the basic skills, know how to count score and can rally/serve somewhat consistently.
Players are grouped into age and skill levels. They then compete against each other in singles or doubles matches and other challenging games. When not playing in a match or game, they are practicing specific drills to improve their strokes and skills.
The goal of this program is to give all players the chance to compete in a friendly environment, get a feel of competitive match play and promote good on-court behaviour.
This program runs on Tuesday afternoons.
Please click here for more details on the dates/times and pricing.
Note: To help them continue with their tennis training, all past junior students will be given priority over new junior students.
